Russia is imposing restrictions on flights of small private planes and drones in Moscow and surrounding regions, imposing a minimum flight altitude requirement, the Russian aviation agency Rosaviatsiya announced today.
Russia has repeatedly reported drone attacks from Ukraine in recent months, particularly targeting areas near Moscow.
Under the new measures, light, ultralight aircraft and drones will have to fly at altitudes no lower than 5,200 meters, an altitude that is beyond the reach of most of these aircraft.
The restrictions will apply in Moscow and the Moscow region, and to a more limited extent in the Ryazan, Tula, Kaluga, Tver, Yaroslavl and Vladimir regions.
Russian authorities say the measures will come into effect on June 20, Reuters reports.
Regular passenger flights and charter flights will continue to operate normally. /Telegraph/
