Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has canceled a planned visit to Poland and will not attend an international conference dedicated to the reconstruction of Ukraine, which will be held in Gdańsk.
According to the official announcement, the Ukrainian delegation will be represented by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who will lead the talks and meetings on behalf of the Ukrainian government.
The cancellation of the visit comes at a sensitive moment in relations between Kiev and Warsaw.
Last week, Polish President Karol Nawrocki stripped Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle, Poland’s highest state decoration, a decision that sparked reactions and debate in both countries.
The official reasons for Zelensky’s absence from the conference have not yet been made public, while organizers have confirmed that Ukraine will continue to participate in the event through its government delegation.
The conference in Gdańsk is expected to bring together representatives of partner countries, financial institutions and international organizations to discuss support and future projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine. /Telegraph/
