Arbnor Muja is one of the Albanian footballers who has left his mark on Belgian football. Just a year after transferring from Drita to Antwerp, the Mitrovica striker managed to win the Belgian title and the Belgian Cup, as well as play in the group stage of the Champions League.
After a year and a half stint in the Turkish Super League with Samsunspor, Muja returned to Belgium at the end of the summer transfer window, joining Sint-Truiden, and his return has proven very positive.
In 9 matches with STVV he has scored two decisive goals and has regained his place on the Belgian scene.
In an interview with Telegrafi, the Albanian star talks about his current form, personal goals and those with the club, leaving Turkey, but also about the Albanian National Team.
The 27-year-old initially explained why he made the decision to return to the Belgian football elite.
“The decision was easy because I felt it was the right moment for such a step. Belgium is an environment where I feel valued, I know the style of play well and I am convinced that here I can show my maximum potential,” Muja initially told Telegrafi.
Muja highly values his adventure in Turkish football, where Samsunspor, thanks to his goal in the last round, managed to advance to the Conference League, for the first time in the club’s history.
“I really appreciate my past adventure, because last season we made history by qualifying for the Conference League. For me, the decisive goal against Samsunspor, which sent the club to European competitions, was also an unforgettable moment. I am very satisfied with those 18 months spent in Turkey,” said Muja.
Speaking about his current status and future, Muja said he feels happy in Belgium.
“I am currently on loan at STVV, while I still remain a Samsunspor player. I returned to Belgium because of the style of football, which suits me and helps me rediscover myself. I liked Turkish football a lot, especially the passion that exists there, and of course the possibility of returning to Samsunspor always exists. But sometimes a player adapts better in other championships,” continued the Mitrovica striker.

The Albanian striker also praised the environment at Sint-Truiden and his current situation. “I feel very good at Sint-Truiden. We have a young and quality team, we are performing well as a group and I have the impression that I have found myself again.”
He also spoke about his personal and team goals for the remainder of the season.
“My personal objective is to fully regain my form, and I believe I am on the right track. Together with the team, we aim to reach the Play-Offs, to fight for the positions that lead to Europe and, why not, to go as far as possible in the Belgian Cup.”
Muja also commented on the issue of returning to the Albanian National Team, stating that it depends on his performances.
“As for the national team, everything depends on my performances. I think I’m on the right track and I hope to be part of the upcoming training camps,” said Muja.
Finally, he gave his opinion on the Rossoneri’s next challenge against Poland in the Play-Offs for World Cup qualification.

“As for the match against Poland, we are in for a very difficult match, considering their strength and the fact that we are playing on their turf. However, the chances always exist.
