US President Donald Trump has reacted after Israel’s latest attack on Beirut, stating that the event “should not have happened,” especially at a time when, according to him, the parties are close to a peace agreement with Iran.
In a message on the social network, Truth Social, the 80-year-old called on all parties to refrain from further escalating the conflict, stressing that the United States and Iran are “very close” to an agreement.
He demanded that Israel stop attacks on Lebanese territory and at the same time that armed groups, including Hezbollah, not take action against Israel.
“There should be no more attacks from Israel anywhere in Lebanon, but neither should there be attacks from any other party, including Hezbollah,” Trump wrote.
He described the situation as an opportunity for achieving a long-term peace, adding that “this could be the beginning of a long and beautiful peace – let’s not ruin it!”
Otherwise, Iran has warned that if Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue, there will be no agreement with the US. /Telegraph/
