US President Donald Trump’s media company, Trump Media & Technology Group, has launched a new data service that gives clients faster access to his posts on the Truth Social platform and other influential accounts.
The service, called “Truth API,” is designed primarily for financial trading firms, institutional investors, and businesses that require real-time information from statements that could impact financial markets.
According to reports, plans for this service can cost up to $100,000 per month, particularly targeting commercial companies and businesses that want to have an advantage in responding to new developments.
The company states that the platform offers automated and licensed transmission of data from posts by major accounts on Truth Social, reducing delays in receiving information, reports cnbc .
Trump’s tweets have often caused immediate movements in financial markets, especially when they relate to trade policy, tariffs, energy, sanctions or international issues. For this reason, quick access to these statements is considered of particular interest to financial traders.
However, the new service has sparked backlash and concerns about the possibility of creating an unfair advantage for investors who pay for privileged access to information.
Critics have called for US regulatory authorities to examine whether such a service could affect equality of access to information that influences markets.
Trump Media has defended the initiative, arguing that it is a technology product that distributes public data and part of the company’s strategy to expand its activity beyond the social network Truth Social. /Telegraph/
