A photograph of the US company Philip Morris’ factory in Kharkiv, destroyed by Russian attacks, has been presented to the United States Senate as an example of the damage that the war in Ukraine is also causing to American businesses.
US Senator Jeanne Shaheen stated that Russian attacks are not only targeting Ukrainian infrastructure and citizens, but also affecting American companies that have invested and operate in Ukraine.
“Russian attacks are affecting not only Ukraine, but also American companies that have a presence there,” Shaheen said during Senate hearings.
She urged support for imposing new sanctions on Russia, arguing that economic pressure is the main tool to force Moscow to change course.
“Economic pressure is the only language Putin understands,” declared the American senator, calling for tougher measures against Russia due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. /Telegraph
