A Paris court has awarded Kim Kardashian one euro in damages for a 2016 armed robbery in the French capital, the amount she herself requested.
The decision was made on Tuesday and, according to the lawyer involved in the case, the same compensation of one euro was awarded to stylist Simone Bretter, who was present during the robbery.
Kardashian was the target of an attack on October 2, 2016, during Paris Fashion Week, while staying at the Hotel de Pourtales.

Two robbers, disguised as police officers, forced their way into her apartment, bound her with plastic ties and duct tape, and stole more than six million dollars worth of jewelry, including the diamond ring she wore to the Givenchy show that evening.
Last year, a court found eight people guilty for their role in a robbery that the American star described as the most terrifying experience of her life.

Because of their advanced age, the defendants became known in France as the “grandfather bandits” and all six were between 60 and 70 years old at the time of the trial.
They were charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, membership in a criminal group, and other crimes. Since the time spent in pre-trial detention was included in their sentence, none of the convicts returned to prison and no one filed an appeal.

The court awarded the former hotel receptionist 109,516 euros, although he sought 550,000 euros in damages and interest, claiming he was traumatized by the robbery. The hotel was awarded 50,000 euros.
“I am deeply grateful to the French authorities for bringing justice to this case. While I will never forget what happened, I believe in the power of personal progress and responsibility and pray for healing for all,” Kim Kardashian said after the verdict.
