The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the results of the Agricultural Farm Survey (AEB) for 2025, which show a slight increase in the utilized area of agricultural land and livestock compared to the previous year.
According to the data, the total utilized area of agricultural land has increased by 510.9 hectares or 0.1 percent, reaching over 420 thousand hectares during 2025.
Most of this area belongs to meadows and pastures, including common land, which has increased as a result of the increase in the number of animals. A slight increase has also been observed in the areas planted with cereals and vegetables.

During 2025, arable land reached 189 thousand hectares, dominated by cereal cultivation with 128 thousand hectares, followed by fodder plants, vegetables, potatoes, legumes and industrial crops.
ASK announces that the area irrigated at least once during the reporting period was 34,240 hectares, while the area treated with pesticides reached over 123 thousand hectares.

The livestock sector has also recorded a slight increase. The number of cattle has reached 241,423 heads, compared to 240,848 in 2024. An increase has also been recorded in the number of sheep, which has reached 211,178 heads, from 209,947 a year earlier.
According to KAS, the methodology and standards used in this survey are harmonized with Eurostat recommendations and provide a detailed overview of developments in the agricultural sector of Kosovo. /Telegraph/
