The civic protest against the project to build a luxury resort in the Zvërnec area of Vlora has entered its twelfth consecutive day. Through continuous mobilization, protesters have gathered again in the capital to express their firm stance against this planned investment and to demand radical political and legal changes.
The activity initially began with the gathering of citizens in “Skënderbej” Square, from where a march began along the “Martyrs of the Nation” Boulevard. With banners in their hands, flags and calls against the government and the political class as a whole, the demonstrators stopped in front of the Prime Minister’s Office building.
During speeches held in front of the Prime Minister’s office, organizers and participants have made it clear that they will not withdraw without receiving answers to their points. According to the protesters in the square, there are five main demands that they consider to be completely non-negotiable:
The immediate resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Creation of a Technical Government.
Repeal of the Law on Protected Areas.
Repeal of the Law on Strategic Investments.
Complete cancellation of the project known as the “Mountain Package”.
