NORSI, Russia’s fourth-largest oil refinery and second-largest gasoline producer, has halted crude oil processing after a Ukrainian drone attack, two industry sources said.
One person was killed and an industrial facility was damaged in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Russian region of Nizhny Novgorod, where NORSI is located, local governor Gleb Nikitin said yesterday.
Sources say that the primary unit of the CDU-6 refinery at NORSI was damaged in the attack.
This unit can typically process 25,700 metric tons of oil per day, which is equivalent to about 190,000 barrels and constitutes 53 percent of the refinery’s total capacity.
Lukoil, the refinery’s owner, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
NORSI can process more than 15 million tons of oil per year, or about 320,000 barrels per day. /Telegraph/
